If you are a notary, you may have received a fraudulent renewal alert. It has been brought to Union State Bank’s attention that there has been fraudulent activity regarding notary bonds and notary renewals. This scam attempt is being processed through e-mails, text messages, or even letters in the mail, giving an alert it is time to renew. The only time this occurrence would be true is if the letter or email has come directly from the Secretary of State’s office.

Always be quick to read where the letter or e-mail came from before clicking any links or even engaging any further.
